A woman bag , also known as taunting or very important , is a kind of small bag, similar to a modern evening bag, mainly used from 1795 to 1820. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, the name "reticule" comes from the French rÃÆ' à © ticule , which in turn comes from the Latin reticulum , which small of rete , or "net". Women bags became popular with the emergence of Regency mode in the late 18th century. Previously, women had carried personal items in a pouch tied around the waist, but the columnar skirt and thin cloth that came into the style made the bag essentially unusable. When a woman's bag first appeared, it was made out of a net. Over time, they are made of all kinds of fabrics, including velvet, silk, and satin. A towing woman usually has a cord closure at the top and is carried over an arm on a rope or chain. Reticules are made in a variety of styles and shapes and are sometimes trimmed with embroidery or beads. Women often make their own reticules. Video Reticule (handbag)
