The piercing uvula is the body piercing through the uvula, the projection of the soft palate between the tonsils. It's a rare piercing. The caps of the captive beads or other small rings are the jewelery most often seen on uvula piercings.

Health issues
Piercing is rare due to vomiting reflex, which makes it difficult to organize or accept it. If jewelry penetrates through the uvula released, it may be swallowed or even inhaled, it will require surgery to be released.
Like tongue piercings, there is the risk of crush injuries during piercing, swelling, and infection. The jewelry will also pull the uvula down during sleep, reducing the diameter of the nasal passages and increasing the likelihood of sleep-related respiratory distress such as snoring. Uvula punctures can migrate to the uvula division, which is harmless.

History and culture
