Trollz is an animated television series produced by DiC Entertainment (now DHX Media) and features the adventures of five teenage girls, who call themselves Best Friends for Life, who use daily magic to help them with daily life -day and struggling whatever magical creatures and problems they might face. Trollz is based on a troll doll made in the 1960s.

Spell Phone is a device based on a real-life mobile phone, but is customizable to provide functions for magic and spellbeads as well as providing normal mobile phone functionality. "Spell Calls" is used to cast spells on another trollz at a distance. To initiate a Spell Call, the caller puts a spell spell in the spell after inciting a spell and then dials the intended recipient's phone number and presses the transmission button. The Mantra phone then transfers the spell over the phone line and when the receiver takes the phone the spell is released through the receiver of the phone. This is a useful function that allows trollz to cast spells over long distances, but many teens misuse the function and instead use it to play pranks.
