Torrence Hatch Jr. (born November 14, 1982), known professionally as Boosie Badazz (formerly known as Lil Boosie ), is an American rapper. Hatch was named Boosie's nickname by his family, and he grew up in Southside Baton Rouge. As Boosie, he has released many regular studio albums while contributing to a number of mixtapes and compilations.
Hatch was imprisoned in the Louisiana Correctional Institution from 2009 to 2014, who has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to drug allegations. He was released early on March 5, 2014. On October 20, 2014, Lil 'Boosie officially changed his stage name to "Boosie Badazz".

Lil's cousin, Young Dee introduced Boosie to the Baton Rouge rapper C-Loc in the late 1990s. He is mentored by Young Bleed and C-Loc as well as MD. and joined the group Concentration Camp, as the youngest member at the age of 14 in 1996. The group consisted of Young Bleed, C-Loc, Happy Perez, Boo, Max Minelli, J-Von, Lee Tyme and Lucky Knuckles. He finally debuted on C-Loc's fifth album, 'It's A Gamble' in 2000 under his third studio album Boosie and the third Camp III Concertration Camp: Thug Brothas in 2000. Young Bleed's departure from Camp helped put Lil Boosie in the lead position among the group. Together with C-Loc and Max Minelli, he serves as one of the "faces" of the Camp. At the age of 17, he recorded his debut album, aptly Youngest of da Camp, (Camp Life Entertainment, 2000). The album's production was mostly handled by Happy Perez, and featured C-Loc, Max Minelli and Donkey.
In 2001 he joined Trill Entertainment which was supported by the CEO of his deceased Pimp C from UGK. Soon after, Trill independently released the album For My Thugz under his new alias Lil Boosie in 2002. The album featured Pimp C, Young Bleed, Webbie while he also released his first mixtape title Boosie 2002 (Advance) show contributions by Max Minelli and Pimp C.
2003-05: Ghetto Stories , Gangsta Muzik and Warner Bros.
Then in the summer of 2003, Boosie collaborated with Webbie on the album Ghetto Stories, presented by Pimp C. In 2004, the duo teamed up again at Trill Azz Mixtape Vol. 1, which also featured Torrence's "Bad Azz" appearance. That same year, he released Trill Azz Mixes II which introduced Phat, later known as Lil Phat. She paired up again with Webbie, to release their second compilation album, Gangsta Musik. He attracted the attention of several representatives of Universal Music Group. In 2004 Lil Boosie and the South Coast Coalition released the Both Sides of the Tracks . Boosie also released the mixed compilation title of Bad Ass with some new songs such as Trill Shit . It also features I Smoke, I Drank by Body Head Bangerz featuring Boosie and Young Bleed from their debut album Body Head Bangerz: Volume One. January 1, 2005 Boosie teamed up with Lava House Records to release United We Stand, Divided We Fall. He also released the Road Code with Pat Lowrenzo. In 2005, Lil Boosie released Bad Ass (Advance) to promote Bad Azz. At the end of January 2005, Boosie signed an agreement with Warner Bros.. Records.
2006-08: Bad Azz and Survival of the Fittest
In early 2006, Trill released Bad Ass Mixtape Vol.1 as a follow up (Bad Ass Advance). In 2006, the debut album of the major label Boosie Bad Azz was released. It contains one "Zoom" featuring Yung Joc. A Bad Azz DVD follows where the rapper explains his father's death due to drugs and his fight against diabetes. In early December 2006, the mixtape "Streetz Iz Mine" was released by Lil Boosie and DJ Drama (Gangsta Grillz), featuring guest appearances by Webbie. In 2007, Lil Boosie released Bad Azz Mixtapes Vol. 2 while together with Webbie he appeared on the remix of "Wipe Me Down" by rapper Foxx. It was included in Trill Entertainment's Survival of the Fittest, released in 2007. In 2008 Boosie released Da Beginning Mixtape . At the July 4th Bash party of Lil Boosie, he distributed his new mixtape, 4th Of July Bash . In December 2008, Lil Boosie released Lil Boosie Presents: Da Click , featuring Da Click (Hatch Boy, Locco, Quick and Bleek). In 2008, she appeared on the single "Independent" by Webbie and among several rappers will be featured on "Out Here Grindin" by DJ Khaled.
2009: Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz and Bad Azz Entertainment
In March 2009 Boosie released The Return Of Mr. Wipe Me Down as a mixture of promotion to their major album. The Runners and V-12 produce some mixtape. Lil Boosie again distributed an untitled mixtape on July 4 Bash. The songs from the tape finally ended at Da Click: Street Kingz which was released July 14th. In 2009, Lil Boosie released her second major album Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz . The first single from the album, "Better Believe It", featured Webbie and Young Jeezy. Promotional music videos for songs from albums, such as "I'm a Dog" and "Loose as a Goose," were released. Also in 2009, Lil Boosie presented her debut label Bad Azz Entertainment. Lil Boosie released Thug Passion on his Bad Azz Entertainment label in 2009. In the summer (July) 2009, Lil Boosie and Hurricane Chris released a mixtape titled Category 7: Bad Azz Hurricane < I. Lil Boosie also released a mixtape titled Untouchables with LoLa Monroe. Lil Boosie also released a mixtape titled The 25th Hour . In the mixed interlude, he talks about his prison sentence.
2010-12: Imprisoned
In 2010 Lil Boosie and C-Loc, his former CEO, released Unbreakable as a Compilation CD. In 2010, Lil Boosie has announced when he was still in jail on murder and conspiracy charges, and potentially facing the death penalty, he wants to move forward with his hip hop career. Boosie released her fourth studio album, Incarcerated, on September 28th on Asylum Records. According to MTV News, the project is almost entirely produced by B.J., although Mouse on Tha Track also does it. Webbie, Foxx, and Lil Trill were among the guests in attendance. Lil Boosie released Gone Til 'December in 2010, which is a mixtape album consisting of new music. The 25th Hour tape was originally released in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana - but other versions have spread on the internet. The version he dropped featured songs like "Be Careful" featuring Money Bag $, "I Did You Wrong" feat. Lil Quick, "I Been Icy," "My Children," and "I Is not At Cha." Other notable guest appearances include: Lil Jas, Hatch Boy, Yung Giga from Bad Azz Entertainment, as well as Lil Trill. There are several other mixtapes circulating on the internet with similar titles, so Bad Azz Entertainment releases it as Should Been My Beatz in Amazon, Rhapsody and others. Lil Boosie released 22504 with B.G.. In 2011, Rapid Release Hit After Hit 3 with Lil Boosie. In 2012, My Brother Keeeper was released with Money Bagz and Quick. Also Under Investigation was released as a free download on Livemixtapes with Ray Vicks.
2014: Change name to "Boosie Badazz"
In January 2014, Lil Boosie talked about his punishment and said,
I have about 500 songs at this time. I feel that I made the best music I ever made. The more I live my life, the better my music is and it's been crazy the last three years. I keep my music sincere and keep making real music. I would not even say it was hip hop music. My music is a 'rap reality'. Hip-hop music can make you dance and wiggle your head, but it can not make you cry or touch your heart like a rap of reality.
On September 13, 2013 it was reported that the judge associated with his case agreed to return the hard drive and his computer. The equipment contained much of the music he recorded before going to jail. Jeff Weiss, who covered Boosie's trial for Rolling Stone, reported that Boosie's lawyers believed he would be released within the next five months. On March 10, 2014, Boosie made his first comment to the public after he was released from prison. During a press conference he revealed his new recording contract with Atlantic Records. The first single released was "Show Da World" with Webbie. Lil Boosie is featured on "Wuda Cuda Shuda" by 2 Chainz, "Beat Up the Block" by Dorrough Music, "Face Down" by DJ Mustard, "Beez Like" by Young Jeezy, "Jet Fuel" by TI, "Made Me "(Remix) by Snootie Wild.
In October 2014, Boosie changed his stage name to Boosie Badazz. and explained in an interview in May 2015 with Noisey: "I'm tired of just people, men, such as" How are Lil Boosie? "No, I'm an adult. The project featured 17 new songs with guest appearances from Rich Homie Quan on "Like A Man," Webbie single on the street single "On The Level," as well as Chris Brown, Rick Ross, TI and Keyshia Cole.
On October 30, 2014, Lil Boosie released her first mixtape since she was released from prison titled "Life After Deathrow", featuring Yo Gotti, Trey Songz, LIV and Shy Glizzy.
2016-present: Penitentiary Chances Boosie Badazz and album with C-Murder
Boosie Badazz and C-Murder announced the combined album Penitentiary Chances January 18, 2016 through AllHipHop. The project of two Louisiana rappers is scheduled to be released April 15, 2016. All production is said to come from T-Rhythm and Moneybeats "SoundTrendsLlc". In December 2017 he released the album BooPac .

Bad Azz Music Syndicate is a record label founded by Boosie Badazz. In 2008, Lil Boosie formed his own group, Da Click, and then his footstep Bad Azz Entertainment in 2009. Bad Azz Entertainment renamed and refocused to "Bad Azz Music Syndicate" in 2015.
Legal issues
On October 22, 2008, Boosie was arrested after the East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputy found marijuana and a pistol in Boosie's car. Boosie pleaded guilty to a third possession of cannabis on September 22, 2009 and was sentenced to two years in prison the following day. Judge James Moore doubled the sentence on Nov. 10 after discovering Boosie had violated his probation while pending. Among his appeals and sentences, Boosie is electronically monitored and placed under house arrest.
On June 17, 2010, Boosie was indicted on federal charges for first-degree murder Terry Boyd. He also faces charges for three alleged possessions with the intent to distribute narcotics (Schedule II-Codeine, Schedule I-Ecstasy and I-Ganja Schedule), three counts of "conspiracy to commit possession with intent to distribute narcotics", and two counts "Conspiracy to introducing contraband to a penitentiary ". He has stated that he is not guilty of this charge. Hillar Moore District Attorney declared that the murder appeared to be "over the limit". If found guilty, Boosie could face the death penalty. Prosecutors also stated that they believed the rapper might have been involved in at least five other murders. On June 28, Boosie filed an innocent defense in the Louisianan courtroom. While Boosie's defense discussed the fact that the rapper had several ongoing cases, they stressed that he was not a murderer.
On November 29, 2011, Boosie was sentenced to eight years in state prison after pleading guilty to drug charges.
On May 11, 2012, a jury found Boosie not guilty of a first-degree murder.
On December 7, 2012 after it appears Boosie will remain in prison for 7 more years due to drug charges, his lawyer can argue that the cost of the drug ring is set up. This is because the informant offered to provide codeine syrup for Boosie, a coded codeine addict, in return for his help.
On December 19, 2013, Boosie was revealed to be released from prison on August 18, 2014. However, the following day, his brother/manager revealed that the release date had been pushed until February 2014. Then, on January 29, 2014, it was confirmed that Boosie would held its final hearing on 13 February 2014, and had to be released during the following week. He was released on March 5, 2014. He will remain a free status until 2018.
Personal life
Boosie grew up in a low-income housing in South Baton Rouge. His father struggled with a drug addiction until his death in 1997. His mother is now a retired schoolteacher. She has 8 children. Shortly after Bad Azz was released, Boosie announced that he had diabetes. On March 9, 2013 it was announced that Boosie had gotten his GED certificate while in jail.
On November 25, 2015, Boosie announced through social media that she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He managed to perform surgery to lift cancer.
