Rick's CafÃÆ' à © Casablanca is a restaurant, bar and cafà © à © located in the city of Casablanca, Morocco. Opened March 1, 2004, the venue was designed to re-create the famous bar made by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the classic movie Casablanca. Set in an old courtyard-style house built on Old Medina of Casablanca's walls, the piano-bars are filled with architectural and decorative details that remind the film: curved arches, carved bars, balconies, balustrades and beads and brass lamps, stencils and plants that produce glowing shadows on white walls. There is an original 1930s Pleyel Piano and As Time Goes By is a general request for in-house pianists.
Owned by the company The Usual Suspects, this Casablanca landmark is usually described as the real Rick Cafe, finally bringing the legendary "Gin Joint" movie theater to live in Casablanca today.

Rick's Cafà © à © Casablanca was developed by Kathy Kriger, a former American diplomat in Morocco. The restaurant is housed in a traditional Moroccan mansion with a central courtyard or Riad, built in 1930. The land placement allows for three facades: a typical entrance entrance with heavy wooden doors depicting the film; a port-oriented façade visible to the Atlantic; and narrow deadlock access which is the main entrance but now the service entrance.
Due to the age of the structure and its proximity to the sea, the house was completely restored and renovated. American architect/designer Bill Willis understands decorative and architectural details that enhance the existing arches and balustrades to evoke the movie "Casablanca." An elaborate antique brass floor and table lamps with metal shades strung together with beads provide dramatic lighting effects, and on each table is a specially designed brass lamp with a shade of beads designed by Bill Willis. Wooden carving and decorative wooden screens, tables and chairs from Syria adding decorative touches reminiscent of furniture in film In addition to the loyal rendering of decoration in Casablanca, Rick's Cafà © à © Today is full of tiles and woodwork representing the Moroccan craft industry. The fireplace is made of carved marble or tadelakt painted with an intricate zellige tile pattern that gives the fireplace accents and the staircase from the central staircase. Tadelakt in muffled colors cover the walls throughout the restaurant, and the floor is arranged in a hand made terra cotta tiles.
