Daybeds are used as beds and to relax, lie down and sit in the common room. Their frames can be made of wood, metal or a combination of wood and metal.
They are a cross between a chaise longue, a sofa and a bed.
Daybeds usually feature back and sides and come in twin sizes (39Ã, in Ã, à ± 75Ã, in = 99Ã, cmÃ, Ã, à ± 191Ã,à cm). Often daybeds will also feature trundles to expand sleep capacity.

Many beds today use the link as a mattress support system. The linkspring is a rectangular metal frame (roughly mattress footprint) with cross support. Polyester/nylon wire or mesh fitted in place by the springs network is located at the top of the linkpring. Linkspring designs provide support and create permissions under daybed for storage.
There are two categories of modern daybeds, indoor and outdoor. Daybeds can be hanging or stable, outdoor beds usually have a roof-like structure to protect them from the sun while the beds in the room are simple.
Cots can be turned into daybeds by removing one side.
